Why does President Bush seem to never put the gloves on when being hammered by the left's jabs and the occasional upper cut by the right? He seems to just smile and return to the corner until the bell rings. Then the next round starts and the beating continues.
 I used to think this was simply due to having a high level of class and not wanting to fall to the same low level from which the punches were being thrown. I still hold out hope that this is the case. But, I do wonder. It may yet turn out that the President is craftier than even I give him credit for. Only time will tell.
 So, is the President setting an example for his conservative supporters to follow or is he afraid of the fight? Does he know how frustrating it is for us who hold him in high esteem to see him seemingly cower when the opponent viciously attacks? I feel most of us would rather see our President stand toe to toe a little more often and retreat without comment a little less often. I know it would be better for the conservative movement and it sure could use some help right now.
